Our Classroom Store

We have started to create our classroom store. The students came up with different names for our store. The majority voted for "Longos For Kids". The students made a beautiful sign that is proudly presented in our store area.  We are looking for empty containers to use in our store. Please bring them in when you can. We are also looking for play shopping carts, if you have any at home... please bring them in! We are ready to start shopping!

Yesterday we learned about different coins. Today we asked the students how they would like to use the coins in the classroom. They came up with some great ideas. All on their own! We will be setting up a classroom store over the next couple of days! It's time to go shopping!

Making a Floating Boat

Last week we learned about items that float and sink. This week we would like to have the students each make a boat that can float in water! We will test out the boats and see how much weight they can handle before they sink. We will be using marbles to test the weight. 
Please bring in items that can be used to make a small boat. The size of a small milk carton would be the biggest size.

Painting the Town Starring Kassidy

Kassidy lived in a town of black and white. She found some paint and painted a house red. She then realized how amazing the town would look if she painted everything! By the end, the towns people were so happy about their colourful town! Thanks Kassidy!

Today we introduced the students to coins! They were able to use play money to find out how much each coin is worth, what each coin is called, and what pictures are on the coins. Please show your child the real coins! Have them practice all of the things we learned!

Ethan invited a penguin to come and visit him. Before long his whole house was full of penguins! The whole town became upset because there were too many penguins! Ethan apologized and the penguins went home. But, he did have a great time with all of those penguins!

Jordan wanted to have a funny face! He is the proud owner of a pet Grockle. He had no idea how crazy his Grockle would be. Once he found out how to train his Grockle, then he started to behave!

Saving Christmas Starring Brandon

Brandon chose a Christmas story in January! We loved it! Santa hurt his ankle and Brandon was very excited to help out! He flew all over the world in Santa's sleigh delivering all of the presents to all of the girls and boys. Santa was so happy for Brandon's help that he gave him some wonderful gifts!

Monster Mayhem Starring Lucas

Lucas is a mad scientist that created a robot that behaves very badly! Lucas manages to re-circuit him and then he becomes a very good robot that cleans up all of his messes!

Could you please bring in one small object that sinks and one small object that floats. 
Please have the item be no larger than an adults hand.
