This morning some students showed some interest in the big junks of ice that were outside on the ground. We invited the students to bring in those chunks of ice and put them in the water sensory bin. The students started asking questions. Some of those questions included; What is ice? How does it turn into ice? How long will it take to melt?
All of the students took a guess of how long it will take for the ice to melt. Guesses ranged from 1 hour to 20 hours! We used a timer and found out that it took 3 hours for the ice to melt! What a great experiment, led by our very inquisitive JK and SKs!
