If you can donate a bag of Oreo cookies to our classroom, that would be great! Please bring on Monday.
Students will estimate how many Oreos they are able to stack before their Oreos tumble.
Students may not use anything to stabilize their cookies and they are NOT able to adjust cookies as they stack. (i.e.... once they have placed the cookie and their hand has left the cookie, they may NOT adjust the cookie again.) Students will stack ONE cookie on top of the next one at a time.
Each student will have TWO attempts to stack the cookies and will record the highest amount they were able to stack before tumbling.
This is a project with schools all over the world and our results will be averaged and posted!
If we receive several bags or cookies we will extend the project by participating in the Oreo Sculpture Project. For this project students create a unique sculpture (such as animals, houses etc.) using Oreo cookies.
If you would like to practice stacking Oreo's at home with your family, please send me some pictures and I will post them on the blog.
